Mengxi Wu
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
Dr. Mengxi Wu earns his Ph.D. degree from Brown University and is currently a Research Assistant Professor at HKUST. He studies tropical convection, clouds and precipitation using observational and modeling techniques. His past work mostly focuses on the Amazon rainforest where both continental and oceanic convective characteristics can be found. As a former International Mathematical Olympiad gold medal winner, he is interested in applying novel mathematical tools to handle the complex Earth system. He is also involved in a few interdisciplinary studies with biogeochemistry, seismology, renewable energy etc.
